Kayak surfing at the Monday night X spot has to stop. First of all it is a Town Lot. The Cops have been putting violation stickers on all out of town cars.
Secondly it was a bad weekend for surf kayaking in town. Rescues, collisions,and over all lack of knowledge in the line up for starters. The Sgt. of Police (Real Good Surfer) saw one of the rescues and also watched in horror at several near misses and collisions.
Not trying to be a dick. Several of us, including the cops spoke last night. It was a very serious tone but ended in this agreement. That because I turned everyone onto the spot,that It's my responsibility to stop it.
I'm sure this will be met with different opinions. I do care about Surf Kayaking. The whole reason we had the "get together and Surf" was to increase awareness of how to share the line up. sdkec@msn.com if you need to flame.
